Tennant Creek Women’s Refuge is funded:
To provide support and crisis accommodation to all women and accompanying
children who are victims or in fear of family/domestic violence, in crisis
, homeless and at risk.
Case management, referrals, advocacy and networks to appropriate local
and inter-state agencies and family members to ensure the outcomes of client
A part time Children’s Worker five days a week providing safe environments
for children to debrief, learn and play.
A transparent and accountable service with strongly outlined and accessible
Outreach support for women who are living in the community or have left
our accommodation and require/request ongoing assistance.
COUNSELLING SERVICE: This is a free confidential service available to
any woman in the community.
Community Education Worker- raising awareness in the community of the
effects of domestic violence and its effects on children, by providing
and facilitating community education and awareness training, events and
meetings throughout the Barkly Region.
Emotionally and culturally appropriate forums in
which women are able to discuss domestic, family and social violence
in an empowering environment.
Assessment Criteria must be met for entry to our
Crisis Accommodation Service . Capacity - 8 Beds in a Homelike friendly
